Vacation Guide for South Goa

Travel to a quite place in Goa

South Goa has some of the most pristine beaches in the state. Palolem Beach is a crescent-shaped paradise in South Goa, known for its crystal-clear waters and picturesque surroundings. Take a boat trip to spot dolphins, enjoy a yoga session on the shore, or explore the nearby Butterfly Beach, accessible by boat. Generally, North Goa is considered more expensive than South Goa. Within North Goa, areas such as Baga, Calangute, and Candolim are popular tourist hotspots and are more expensive compared to other areas. These areas have a high concentration of restaurants, bars, and shops, and are also closer to the popular beaches. Certain areas in South Goa, such as Colva, Palolem, and Varca, have luxury resorts and upscale accommodations that can be more costly compared to other parts of Goa.

How to reach South Goa
Air
The nearest airport is Dabolim Airport if you wan to go to South Goa which is 60 km away from it. If you want to North Goa then nearest airport is Manohar International Airport, which is 32 kms from it.

Rail
Madgaon railway station is Goa’s biggest and busiest as it is a railway junction positioned at the intersection of the Konkan Railway and the South Western Railway. All trains stop at Margao. Hence it is used more commonly as a transit stop rather than a tourist destination by many people who either head off down south to Palolem (38 km) or to Benaulim and Colva which are about six kilometers away and are popular tourist destinations.

Road
Goa is connected by road to other cities like Mangalore, Udupi, Bhatkal, Kumta, Karwar, Ratnagiri, and Mumbai through the National Highway 66 (NH66). Also, there is road which connects Margão to Ponda and other towns of Goa state. Palolem Beach, nestled in South Goa, is renowned for its pristine white sands and tranquil atmosphere.

Places to stay in Goa
If you want to experience the extravagant nightlife and busy beaches, then North Goa, especially Baga and Calangute are ideal. South Goa is renowned for its calm and sparsely populated climate, which provides a serene respite from the bustle of the capital. South Goa is the best place to go if you want a relaxing vacation with quiet beaches. Every beach is surrounded by numerous hotels and homestays. I don't think you will face in any challenge . We stayed in Crystal goa Palolem, a homestay to stay, very near to Palolem beach and quite ok place to stay. In North Goa we stayed in Silver Sands Hideaway near Candolim beach
