On almost every Sunday runny Mutton curry aka Panthar mangsher jhol is a must item of a lavish menu. So at our home today. Since last 7 days I had an order of lunch for a Bengali marraige ceremony. So could not able to cook proper lunch or dinner for ourselves. Just one type of item was on our daily menu. And on last monday my mom came to our Hyderabad. So I decided to cook some a lavish lunch for us including mutton and here it is. Our Sunday Lunch menu contains,
- Bhat
- Masoor Dal
- Bandhakopi die Macher mathar chechra
- Punti macher chorchori
- Katla macher jhol
- Mangsher jhol
- Payesh
- Salad

Punti macher chorchori
- Punti mache 1 bowl full, amrinated with salt and turmeric
- Onion, chopped 1 small
- Green chili 1 chopped
- Potato 1 small, thinly sliced
- Turmeric 1 pinch
- Red chili powder as per taste
- Salt as per taste
- Mustard oil 4 tablespoons
Take the fish, clean well, wash and mrinate with salt & turmeric and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan, and fry the punti mach till they turned into crispy. Take them out of the pan and keep aside.
In the same oil, add chopped onion and green chili, and fry till the onion looks golden in color. Now add chopped potato, salt, turmeric & red chili powder and keep stirring. Add little water and cover the pan to make the potatoes tender. It may take 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add fried punti mach and check for salt and chili. Add if needed. Keep stirring everything till oil oozes.
Serve with steamed rice. May add chopped cilantro if you want.
